IV Cannula is designed for insertion in percutaneously accessible blood vessels of the extremities (the peripheral
vasculature) and are short in length to keep their distal tip near the insertion site. These catheters include a 2 to 8 cm FEP/ PTFE
tube with a metal stylet inside its lumen (over-the- needle catheters). Peripheral IV Cannula are used as infusion devices or
syringe for short dwelling time (<30 days) administration of non-irritating fluids, electrolyte, vitamins, medication, injection of
certain anaesthetics into the peripheral vasculature of patients with good venous and/or withdrawal of blood samples. This is a
single-use device.
